Cavity Wall Insulation

The average household in Ireland uses 25,000 kWh of fuel and electricity each year, costing in the region of €1,800 per annum. As the cost of energy goes up so will the running costs of each home. Insulating a home can save between 45–55% of heating and cooling energy.

Envirobead insulation reduces heat loss, making your house warmer or reducing the amount of fuel required to maintain a comfortable temperature. Apart from saving money, insulation is a major contributor to reducing carbon dioxide emissions, the main greenhouse gas.

Many houses built over the past number of years have no cavity wall insulation or have an empty cavity with a dry lining slab on the inside of external walls. The empty cavity can be filled using Envirobead Cavity Wall Insulation improving the houses’ ability to retain heat greatly.

The Envirobead installation process is very simple. There are a series of 22mm holes (about the size of a euro coin) drilled strategically in the external walls. The Envirobead is pumped in at these points with an adhesive added at the point of entry. When the bead installation is finished, the holes are filled with cement and a dye is used where necessary. After installation, there are realistic savings of 25% of heat loss and a payback time of between four and six years.
